which is home to a rich array of marine life.
Pole Pole, considered one of the most eco-friendly resorts in the world, is renowned for its great cuisine, unpretentious and laid-back atmosphere and warm but discrete hospitality. Balancing luxury and respect for local culture and environment, it is the perfect place to relax after a safari and the ideal base for exploring the underwater wonders of Mafia Island.

Situated in the Chloe Bay area, on the southeast coast
of the Mafia Island Marine Park.
Facilities at Pole Pole Resort
Dining room, bar and library. The cuisine is a combination of diverse culinary traditions and cultures, with an Italian style touch of class. Swahili dinners are served once a week or on request. The activities in the marine park are scuba diving, snorkelling, sailing and visiting the local villages. Boat excursions and picnics to isolated islets, sandbanks or islands are arranged every day, according to the tide. You can enjoy a relaxing body massage using essential oils in the peaceful massage centre overlooking the beach. A masseuse has been trained in lymphatic drainage style massage and aromatherapy. Manicure and pedicure are also available.
Marine Park Fees of USD20 per day is to be paid by cash upon arrival at the Park's entrance gate.
Accommodation at Pole Pole Resort
7 bungalow rooms, perfectly blend with the surrounding tropical garden, overlooking the infinite hues of blue of Chloe Bay. All rooms are furnished with carved and antique pieces. The large private verandahs are furnished with a Zanzibari bed, chairs, table and an armchair.

Approximately a 30-minute flight from Dar es Salaam
airport.
Notes: During low tide it is not always possible to swim in the sea.
The resort is closed in April and May.
