Garonga Safari Camp

 

Garonga Safari Camp is an exclusive 12-bed safari camp offering the chance to view big game such as lions, elephants and rhinos. It promises a more intimate wildlife encounter through walking, tracking and sleep-out excursions.

With just 3 luxury suites linked by pathways, Little Garonga was designed with exclusive use in mind, but can also be booked in part.

Garongas holistic philosophy is to offer a safari for the soul, an unhurried and intimate wildlife encounter, a time to reflect and find inspiration in nature. Game drives, wilderness walks, outdoor bush baths, sleep-outs, aromatherapy and reflexology sessions are available, but many choose to lie in their hammocks watching the grazing game in the river bed below.

Facilities at Garonga Safari Camp
Facilities at Garonga Safari Camp include a central living area, boma, wine cellar, curio shop, swimming pool and an aromatherapy sala. Activities include 'big four' open vehicle game drives (no buffalo), bush walks, bush baths under the stars, sleep outs on the deck in a tree in the bush, Bush Spa massages* and treatments*.

Little Garonga facilities include a main lounge/public area for the camp consisting of an outdoor lounge, fully air-conditioned indoor lounge with its own fireplace and help yourself bar, swimming pool area where meals are enjoyed around the fire, and a separate BBQ area. It also has its own boma and massage sala offering aromatherapy and reflexology treatments so the camp operates completely separate from the main tented Garonga Safari Camp. There is also a dedicated guide, vehicle, chef and host ensuring that personal touch for which Garonga is renowned.

Accommodation at Garonga Safari Camp
Garonga Safari Camp offers 6 luxurious tented rooms which can each accommodate a maximum of 2 adults and 1 child (aged 8 - 15). Each room has a private terrace with hammock and indoor and outdoor shower.

Little Garonga offers the Hambleden Suite, a family suite with a separate children's room as well as its very own swimming pool. Pathways lead the way from The Hambleden Suite to two fabulous new suites, namely The Buckingham and The Chiltern, meaning the camp sleeps 6 adults and two children in total. Each air-conditioned suite has a separate bath, indoor and outdoor showers, its own deck with hammocks and mini bar,

*Children under the age of 8 cannot be accommodated at the main Garonga Safari Camp, however, children aged 6 and above are accepted at Little Garonga.
