Botswana
The three main areas to visit are:The Okavango Delta
The Okavango Delta is the largest in-land river delta in the world and covers 15,000 square kilometres of unspoilt African wilderness. Safaris here are on water, either by motorboat or by the traditional mokoro canoe, which is always a popular option. Walking safaris with expert rangers are also available. The area offers outstanding bird watching.
Chobe National Park
Chobe is home to some of the greatest concentrations of game in Africa. For example there are over 60,000 elephants within the 10,500 square kilometres of the park. Chobe safaris can be on land or on the Chobe River itself. Chobe can easily be combined with Victoria Falls in Zambia.
Savute
Essentially Savute is part of the Chobe National Park, the area used to be a marshland but it is now open grassland. This is the area of the park where sightings of lions, cheetahs, zebras and giraffes are most common. All game drives are in open-top vehicles.
